 CBR is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Deputy Editor to help lead our Movies and Television coverage. This role is ideal for a seasoned editor with a strong editorial voice, solid leadership skills, excellent news judgment, and a deep passion for entertainment.

As Deputy Editor, you’ll play a key role in shaping daily coverage, mentoring writers, tracking performance and ensuring CBR continues to deliver timely, authoritative and engaging content to a global audience.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily editorial operations for the Movies and Television verticals.
  • Assign, edit and publish high-quality features, lists and evergreen content.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings to communicate progress on traffic goals, announce site-wide initiatives, and support the team.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with management to assess operations, traffic goals, and discuss content initiatives.
  • Guide writers on tone, structure, SEO best practices, and CBR’s editorial standards.
  • Identify coverage opportunities around breaking news, trends, and audience interests.
  • Help plan short and long-term content strategies to drive traffic and engagement.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to editorial guidelines.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with senior editors and other verticals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in senior editing roles (managing editor, deputy editor, editor-in-chief, senior editor) of a digital publication specializing in film, television and/or related content.
  • Strong subject-matter expertise in Movies or Television (one primary focus required).
  • Ability to efficiently write and edit high-quality content.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, analytics and performance-driven content
  • Ability to balance editorial quality with traffic and production goals
